New Bassist found

PRS would like to announce that we've found a replacement

for Paul. Mick Howard, ex Jump The Gun, came out top of a

stunning list of player who auditioned and will fill the

gap left by Pauls departure with ease. We're frantically

practicing with Mick so he should be out with us some time

fairly soon.

PRS DVD and CD

The recent gig at The Forum in Darlington was videoed by our

good friend Ted Parker. Ted has now finished mastering the

footage and has produced a DVD and CD of the gig.

We'll hopefully have these for sale at gigs in the not to

distant future.

Paul the Bassist moving on!

After 2 successful years with PRS, Paul is leaving to

pursue other musical avenues in an original material band.

Well miss him and wish him every success with his

new band. Response to the advert for a replacement

has been phenomenal with no less than 12 bassists interested.

It's going to be hard to pick a replacement but

watch this space!!

Rodgers in Marton!

The Paul Rodgers Story went to see the real Paul Rodgers
recently when he played an intimate gig at Marton Country
Club in his home town of Middlesbrough .
Rodgers was a guest at the gig for the Kirk Reunion
and the place was sold out with about 600 people there
to see him play in front of his home crowd .
The atmosphere was fantastic with Rodgers showing why
he is often voted the best rock vocalist in the world , his voice
just keeps getting better !! .
Unfortunately the evening was spoilt by the terrible backing
band he was given , they clearly didn't know the Free songs
very well at all and lots of people were heard complaining
about the band later , check out the video here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j9b95aQ3wM .
He did about 8 songs but didn't return to do any encores unfortunately .
The Paul Rodgers Story did get to chat with Rodgers wife
Cynthia , who kindly arranged to get a couple
of the bands guitars signed by Paul Rodgers
which made their night !!! .
You can check out the Paul Rodgers Story soon at
Darlington Forum on Friday 21st May where the band
will be filming the gig for a live dvd, so if you want to be on the dvd , get yourself there !!

Crook Town A.F.C. Easter Rockfest, Sunday 4th April

We Were There!!!!

On Friday 27th Nov 2009 Paul Rodgers was awarded an honorary Doctor Of Letters

at a ceremony at Teesside University and The Paul Rodgers Story were there

as VIP guests!!!

We were invited to attend the investiture and the after event party

and then got to meet Paul and his wife Cynthia for a chat and photos afterwards.

It was a fantastic day and a great honour for us to be able to be there and help

the great man celebrate his achievement and we would like to thank Mark White

for giving us this opportunity of a lifetime.

Visit the Gallery for more photos and video from the day.

Fantastic news just released today is that Paul Rodgers is to be

bestowed with an honorary degree from the University of Teesside

at a ceremony on Friday 27th November.

May we be the first to congratulate the great man on this

fantastic achievement. Well done Paul.

Endorsements

We a proud to announce endorsement deals with Cottam Guitars, a guitar shop based

in Leigh near Manchester who are Europes largest Ibanez dealers,

and RAMamps, a Middlesbrough based custom amps and effects manufacturer.

The Grand Hotel, Bishop Auckland

Many thanks to all who attended the gig at the Grand last Saturday.

The turn out was great, despite the outgoing landlords best efforts at sabotage

by putting up posters advertising us as playing the previous week!! (Only kidding

Simon, the place will miss you)

Also a big hello to Bob and Barbara who popped down to see the band only to be confronted by

a bunch of  ex OW and Doggy and the Puppies members! It was great to see you both again.

PRS at the Free Convention

Great news arrived this week. The Paul Rodgers Story have been asked to open

at the Free Convention!

This is an annual charity event to honor the music of Free and

Paul Rodgers and many of the UK's

top tribute bands have played there over the years and it has been known for

ex members of Free to turn up so you could be rubbing shoulders with the greats!

This year it is being held at the Park Hotel in Tynemouth on Saturday April 11th

and the line up is...

The Paul Rodgers Story, Free Spirit with Freeway headlining.

It's going to be a fantastic event so get along if you can.

Details of this years convention can be found by clicking this link to Davys Rock Page

PRS are on stage at 7:45 so get there early if you don't want to miss us!

So Doggy has finally left for Spain (no we're not jealous) and his replacement

Jack is fully integrated into the band with a few gigs under his belt and getting better each outing.

Here's what Paul had to say on the Riffs website....

Out with the old in with the new

The Paul Rodgers Story started the new year with a surprisingly good turn out at the Three Tuns. Enough like minded Rodgers fans to make our journey north well worth it, thanks to all those attended I think we'll be back later this year. We have a new band member, Jack Daniel Watson, Jack has replaced Doggy on Keys and guitar. Doggy has temporarily hung up his guitar as he is about to emigrate to Spain  with his wife to enjoy life in the sun ( lucky git! ). Jack has a strong musical background and is quite talented we think, but  we don't tell him, his dexterity on keyboard will open up a whole new area of Rodgers music for us to play. We are making plenty of new friends at our gigs and hope these will increase in the coming months and look forward to getting out there and having fun. Check out our website for more about Jack. Cheers, Paul S
